The one I am DEFINITELY planning! Day 10 - Nassau

This morning we were awake at about 0830, having already docked in Nassau, so we got ready and had breakfast in the windjammer (buffet) as we were too late for the main dining room.

We left the ship at about 1030 and took a walk along the shore, we found some odd shaped fish which we tried to photo unsuccessfully.

We walked back towards the ship, stopping in McDonald’s for a drink and to use the WiFi, we got frozen drinks (coke for me, sprite for Rob) and I think Rob also had some chicken nuggets. McDonalds was very busy and they had a limited menu available.

We got a magnet in one of the shops and had a little look around a few others before getting back on board just after 1300.

We decided to have a drink in the sky bar, Rob had the bahama mama which was the drink of the day. I stuck with my diet coke

We then took a walk around decks 11 and 12 and I got another ice cream.

We had a rest in the cabin and then headed to the gym where I did 20 mins of walking and then used a few of the strength machines. I think Rob did more strength than I did.

After the gym we went back to the cabin to get ready for dinner and a show. The show was just ok, the singers are from the musical which we watched the next day but I’m not sure the music suited them.

Next up, we had dinner in the main dining room, our table was very close to the one next to us!

We both had arancini then lasagne followed by warm chocolate cake with ice cream.

There was a guy at dinner sat near us who was clearly a regular cruiser. He was incredibly obnoxious and picked fault with every part of his meal. I don’t know why people do that but there seems to be a few in the cruising community!

Annoyingly we returned to our cabin to a note stating that there was an issue with our credit card.

We had already been to guest services earlier in the day as they stated we hadn’t put a card on file (which we had). They had told us that our card was declined despite the fact it had been authorised.

Rob went back down to guest services and apparently the letter was printed the day before which was very annoying!

The one I am DEFINITELY planning! Day 9

This morning we woke at about 0830, got ready and then got Starbucks breakfast from downstairs (in anticipation of food on the ship later).

We checked out at 11, attached our cruise luggage tags to our bags and waited to get an uber to the port.

We weren’t sure if we would fit in a normal size so we booked an uberXL – does anyone else have this issue?

The trip to the port was about 25 mins so we arrived just around 12, our bags were taken by the porter and then we were quickly through security.

Our paper copies of our ESTAs were requested (still not really sure why) and then we were onto the ship! We headed straight to our muster station to get our passes scanned.

Next up we had to go and sample the pizza at sorrentos along with collecting our soda cups and trying a small piece of cake (all for comparison purposes obviously!)

We explored the ship and entered the spa raffle and tried a soft serve ice cream.

Cabins were available just after 1300 so we headed up to check ours out, while we were there our cabin attendant came and introduced himself.

We explored a little more of the ship and had a drink in the Viking bar – this is something that isn’t on the newer Royal Caribbean ships that we have been on so we quite liked this.

At 1530 we went to the spa for the raffle but sadly we didn’t win

We came back to our cabin for the sail away and watched the Disney Dream leaving ahead of us, then our luggage arrived so we unpacked our stuff for the last time this trip.

We went out for another explore of the ship and got a drink. We used our promotional credit ($4 each) in the casino. Sadly, we didn’t win anything.

Rob then bought himself some camera holder which he had wanted for ages and apparently it was a good price. Aren’t you all loving the technical details?!

We got ready for dinner at Chops Grille which we were trying as they had an offer for the first night - cost $74 for both of us inc tip. We had not found Chops to be that good on our previous ship but wanted to give it a try.

We were brought the breads (which included a pretzel bread) and then to start Rob had the bacon and I had mushroom soup.

Then we both had the fillet with macaroni cheese and mash (shared) and for dessert we both had the warm chocolate cake.

Then we went to studio B to watch the ice show, it was very cold so we had to change into warmer clothes!

The show was really good, a couple of falls but when you consider they are skating on a moving ship it’s very impressive.

We were back to the cabin and in bed just after 10pm.

The one I am DEFINITELY planning! Day 8

A short entry today

This morning we woke up and got ready including packing our new shopping items into our bags.

We packed everything into the car and left just before 11, it was a fairly long drive to Fort Lauderdale, we stopped once to get fuel and again to get lunch where we got an Earl of Sandwich and coffee for me from Dunkin

After a few hours we arrived at our hotel which was the Westin Fort Lauderdale. We checked in and dropped off our bags before taking the car to the airport to drop it off and getting an uber back.

We then watched some tv before dinner in the hotel, it had been quite cloudy so our plan to hit the pool didn’t really feel that appealing.

The dinner was quite good for a hotel bar
