9th March
Almost all of our rides today were via FP+, we prebooked 3 and then all
the rest were found via the app whilst in the FP+ line for the previous ride. I
will highlight the couple of rides which we did wait in the standby line!
Our first ride was a family favourite – Splash Mountain!
We then took a walk across to Fantasyland to use our extra FP on the Seven
Dwarfs Mine Train – we got this one due to our long wait to get our ticket
issue sorted J
Next up was Space Mountain followed quickly by lunch at Cosmic Rays –
who seem to have narrowed down the number of entrances you can use which seemed
odd.
Our final prebooked FP was Pirates of the Caribbean, we encountered a
very odd family in this line – there was a teenage boy who left most of his
family behind and seemed very annoyed that they didn’t catch up with him.
Whilst in the short line I started looking for our next ride and
selected another of my favourites…..The Haunted Mansion!
More zigzagging and we found ourselves back in Tomorrowland to ride a
few classics J
The park had been relatively busy today and even It’s a Small World had
a long line, so luckily that was one of my next FP choices.
Amazingly I managed to get the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for our next
selection – and this time we were seated further back which is definitely a
better ride :)
Keeping the run of luck going I found a FP for Peter Pan a short while
later so we decided to cool off and kill some time at Philharmagic which said
the wait was 20 minutes but we literally walked straight in and the doors
opened!
We took our short trip to Neverland with Peter Pan and decided to get
dinner at Columbia Harbour House. We didn’t really want 2 quick serve meals in
one day but couldn’t find a table service restaurant which suited our plans.
Our FP choices were getting less now (I think we were at around 6pm) but
Splash Mountain popped up again and we couldn’t say no!
We did a little bit of wandering around and thought it was the perfect
time to visit the Tiki Room – we did wait several minutes until the next
show….! I’m fairly sure I had already selected our next ride before we went in
so shortly after we took a nighttime ride on The Jungle Cruise!
Our final ride of the evening was Aladdin’s magic carpets, which isn’t
the most exciting but is fun when you don’t have to wait.
My final goal of the day was to see Wishes one last time – I am
particularly sad that they are replacing the show (although I am sure that the
replacement will be fab) as this was the first firework show that I saw at
Disney and I absolutely love the music.
We managed to get a great spot on Main Street just behind another couple
and managed to avoid any last minute view blockers :)
After the show we did a little bit of shopping and I bought a coffee and
we hoped that some of the crowds would leave before we did.
I also stopped at Guest Relations to leave a compliment for Andy (the
guy who helped us at Disney Springs) and then we waited for an age as the queue
for the ferry and monorail were sooooo long.
We also experienced a brief but heavy rain storm while waiting – we took
shelter under what is now the bag screening area for the arrivals via Disney
buses.
Finally the queue got a bit shorter so we joined – still took a couple
of ferry’s before we got on and finally we got across to the parking lot. A
quick walk to the car and we were soon home for the night.
