7th June
This morning we started off with breakfast in hotel,
they really had a good selection of food. Rob was getting himself an omelette
whilst I was enjoying toast and pastries.
Next we headed over to the Magic Kingdom. There was a massive
line for the express monorail so we took the resort line, it takes slightly
longer but not crammed in like sardines.
The bag check was very busy but we walked in the gate
around 11am.
We had fast passes booked from around midday so we
took a wander through Adventureland and thought we would take a ride on Pirates
of the Caribbean it had a posted wait of 40 minutes but didn’t look that long
and it actually took us around 20.
Afterwards we headed to Big Thunder Mountain for our
first FP and once we were done took a leisurely walk across to Tomorrowland. We
took a quick ride on the Peoplemover and followed it with the Carousel of
Progress before Space Mountain using our second FP.
I really wanted to meet Chip and Dale in their
spacesuits so we got into the line and waited only a few minutes. Dale (I
think) decided to strike a few poses before taking a photo with me….!
We then started thinking about lunch and amazingly
there was availability for The Plaza for 2.20 (booked at 1.50) so we booked it
using the app. Unfortunately we got there and checked in and then waited…! We
waited over 35 mins past our reservation time until we were finally seated and
it was hot so we were getting a bit grumpy.
Once in the food was good as always, I had the turkey
sandwich and Rob the Philly cheesesteak which he will later in the trip compare
with a real Philly version!
For dessert Rob had a brownie sundae (and complained
about the size again) whilst I had an ice cream sundae which was yummy.
After we had recovered from lunch we headed to Splash
Mountain to complete the set with our 3rd FP at around 4.15 and whilst
in the queue we booked another for Buzz at 5.20.
We decided to have a cool down in Philharmagic on the
way to Buzz as the wait was only the time until the next show. We got to Buzz
and selected our 5th FP for later which was a favourite of mine……The
Haunted Mansion!
We found ourselves in Liberty Square with a bit of
time to wait so decided to experience the Hall of Presidents which was
different….I am most puzzled as to why Obama looks so different to the actual
Obama.
We decided to book the Tomorrowland Speedway as FP
number 6 and then continued criss crossing the park as we picked Splash
Mountain (again) as number 7 and then It’s a Small World as number 8.
Continuing our FP spree we then got another for Buzz
Lightyear (It was now around 8.30 and this was number 9) and to my surprise
Peter Pan (10). We booked Winnie the Pooh (11) and had time to ride the Regal
Carousel on the way which was fun :)
Our final FP (12) of the day was for Jungle Cruise and
we got lucky and had a great skipper called Logan who was super enthusiastic.
We finished off the night watching Wishes on Main
Street and decided to head out, walking quickly to try and get ahead of the
crowds. Our strategy worked well as we took the resort monorail back to the
parking lot and made it to our beds by 11!
