Time to go home
We had our alarm set for 0730 and got up and sorted the cases before stripping beds etc.
We took a quick trip to the trash compactor before we left with our many bags of rubbish (where did it all come from?!) then headed to Disney Springs for lunch at Rainforest Cafe.
We had a walk around to kill time until our reservation, somehow Rob managed to get a Saturn 5 rocket from the Lego shop (this would have to be hand luggage as there was no room in the bags!)
Today was Amy’s actual birthday and she wasn’t shy about telling everyone! She got yet another cupcake at the Rainforest Café after her meal.
Final bit of shopping included a couple of bags of chocolate squares from Ghiradelli, which then meant we had to stay inside as much as possible so they didn’t melt!
We left Disney Springs at about 1335 and we had a smooth drive to Tampa where we arrived at about 1500.
There was a very short queue for bag drop and security so before we knew it we were on the other side and waiting to leave.
We got a few snacks and warm drinks whilst waiting at the gate. The flight boarded on time and we had a good flight back across, although Ellis didn’t sleep and managed to keep Matt and I awake for pretty much the whole flight!
Arriving back at Gatwick was annoying as ever. Rob and I used the e-gates but even that was tricky as it took 3 attempts before it would let me through. The others had to wait in a ridiculous line which took so long that Rob and I had collected all the bags before they arrived.
We were heading out of the airport at about 0845 having landed at 0730 – our taxi guy drove us back with most of us asleep for at least part of the journey.
It was definitely better than trying to drive ourselves back!
