We had agreed a time to meet this morning (0730?) but as expected the children were awake in stages from 0430 and so when we woke up to a message we attempted to speed up our preparations and were ready to go at 0715.
We had booked breakfast at the hotel so headed down and Matt and Lucy got the kids food while we got tea, coffee and juice. This was a better selection than the Hampton but still a typical hotel buffet breakfast and no cooked to order eggs which Rob prefers.
Once everyone was done we headed back to our rooms to sort out our bags (Rob and I needed to tidy after getting ready quickly) and we had a few little things to give the children before we left for Disney.
We checked out and packed all of our things back into the car before leaving Tampa just before 0900. We arrived at Bay Lake Tower at around 1000 and gave our many bags to Bell Services to look after for us until our room (2 Bedroom Standard View) was ready.
We checked in and got our Magicbands setting up charging on the adult bands. We also got First Visit buttons for the 5 newbies and a Birthday button for Amy.
All of the admin sorted out quite quickly and so it was off to the Magic Kingdom for the first experience of a Disney park!
I wasn’t sure what time we would arrive so I had booked lunch and 3 FP for slightly later, we took a leisurely walk down Main Street and got a group photo on the way in. As we were ahead of schedule and it was super warm we started off with Philharmagic as it would give everyone a break in the air conditioning.
I think everyone enjoyed this and it was a good starter and as we still had some more time we did It’s a Small World as the line actually wasn’t too bad. We were getting close to our first FP time so we walked across to Pirates to give everyone their first FP experience.
After we had lunch booked at Be Our Guest, we did have to wait a short time to place our order but we were inside and so nice and cool again. As expected the children were completely baffled as to how the food was delivered to us! We didn’t have desserts here as the plan was to get a snack later, but as we went to leave there was a massive downpour which lasted for about an hour.
We stayed in the entrance to the restaurant and eventually once it slowed down we headed out with the kids fitted with ponchos! Our next 2 rides were planned to be Splash Mountain and Big Thunder so we walked in that direction, unfortunately as we arrived at Big Thunder the ride was closed due to thunder in the area We did briefly toy with the idea of riding Haunted Mansion with our FP but the line even with FP was massive due to the number of outdoor rides that were now shut so we decided to call it a day and leave the park.
Back at BLT our room was now ready so we got the bags delivered and then decided it was time to introduce everyone to Walmart and get our supplies for the week.
We spent quite some time getting lots of food and drinks to ensure we could get breakfast and some other meals in the room and when we headed back it was still raining.
Although we had a standard view we did manage to catch some of Happily Ever After from the balcony, as gradually each of the kids flaked out and fell asleep!
