We want some luxury and relaxation...so Florida and a cruise :) Day 5

Friday

This morning we were awake before 8am, we got ready and did laundry because you know it’s been 4 days!

After we were done we attempted to go to Wilderness Lodge but didn’t realise that the boats don’t start until 3pm.

We got in the car and drove over, not entirely sure if they would let us in as you can’t make reservations for Geyser Point.

We had a little walk around before getting an early lunch at Geyser point.

I had a salad and Rob had a sandwich, both were very good and we really like this location with the views across the lake!

I also picked up one of these!

We then headed to the outlets for a couple of hours, we both got a load of stuff in Under Armour and I found some amazing bargains in the girl’s section that fitted me! Just skorts and gym shorts but they were much cheaper!

Rob picked up some new sunglasses at Oakley and then before we knew it we were headed back to the hotel as we needed to get ready for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

We walked over and had a short line (it was so hot) and were through the front gate at about 1605 which was part of the plan as I was hoping to get to Carousel of Progress before the park closed for the day.

We went through the bypass and got our treat bag before heading over to the DVC lounge to see if we had any chance of getting in.

When we told them we were from the UK they gave us a return time of 1645.

I decided we had time to visit Carousel of Progress so we speed walked over, watched the show and speed walked back to the lounge where they let us straight in.

All this speed walking was hot work and so we were glad of a cold drink and a light snack 

We didn’t have much time before our early dinner at Skippers Canteen, we walked around and checked in and for once we were seated quite quickly.

We decided to skip starters and I had duck with fried rice while Rob had Steak and chips (this is based on the photos as apparently, I didn’t actually make a note!)

This was followed by a cheesecake type dessert for me and I think Rob’s was something chocolate but I can’t be sure!

After dinner we headed towards Fantasyland where we had to take a ride on It’s a Small World. We did then consider riding Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train which claimed a 30 min wait but it looked longer.

Having skipped that we decided instead to take a ride on the Speedway followed by Tron (this was posted as 35 mins and we probably waited 25).

I realised when we were in line that it was our first time via the standby line which was different.

Next we headed across to Adventureland and checked in at Beak and Barrel just before 9 (our reservation was at 9.10).

We waited a few mins but the cast members were fascinated by my shoes, which was a common theme again across the night.

Once we entered the bar we were seated at a small table (max 3 seats) so were in our own.

I had the mocktail with cake pop and Rob had the Siren’s whisper which had 2 mermaid tears added at the table.

Rob said it tasted like screen wash, I had a sip but as I have never drunk screen wash I can’t confirm if it is true! My mocktail was quite sweet, and I did like the cake pop 

We only had 1 drink each as I wanted to get out to see the fireworks, we probably couldn’t afford another one either!

We found a fairly central spot in the hub, the fireworks were amazing as always although I still miss Hallowishes.

We then did some trick or treating on our way to get a spot for the parade, we went via Tomorrowland and the long way around to end up in Liberty Square.

We found a spot to wait for Boo to you and it was fairly crowded even for the second parade, we did get an appearance from the Headless Horseman and in fact I don’t think we had even a sprinkle of rain while we were Orlando.

The parade was fab as always, I do miss the dog from the Haunted Mansion section though.

We briefly considered The Haunted Mansion ride after the parade but the line got very long straight after the parade so instead we did some more treat collection before midnight and then finally headed out of the park. Sadly my shoes ran out of battery about 15 mins before then end of the party 

We picked up a couple of drinks on the way out in the shop on Main Street before walking back to Bay Lake Tower by about 0020.
