Will we ever move house trip - Days 4 - 6

8th June

So this morning we were leaving to start our trip to Delaware. Nothing exciting to report…we had breakfast in the hotel before driving to our hotel in Virginia Beach. We stopped twice for food and gas and arrived at around 2130.

Only real downside was that our hotel was much closer to the Naval Base at Norfolk than we had expected and there was quite a lot of noise from passing aircraft :(

9th June

We had a free breakfast again (courtesy of our gold membership) but it wasn’t as good as at the Buena Vista Palace.

We left the hotel and headed towards the seafront, we parked the car and went for a walk.

I think we left around 1130 and continued our journey to Delaware driving past a million churches along the way.

We arrived at Jen and Tom’s at around 1730 and spent the evening catching up with some pizza for dinner. 

Jen had kindly bought Rob some bottles of Bud but unfortunately had bought baby sized beer bottles (I forgot to take a photo and google has failed me!)

I think we also introduced Jen and Tom to Lip Sync Battle which I’m sure was a highlight for them!

10th June

This morning we had a leisurely start, Tom did a little bit or work before we all headed to the beach.

We drove for a couple of hours to Cape Henlopen beach which is near the Lewes – Cape May ferry.

We paid our entrance fee to the state park and found a space to park. We spent a little while sat on the beach with some peanut butter sandwiches and dark chocolate digestives (a treat from the UK for Jen).

It was bright and sunny although at times breezy, we then did a nature walk which was a good way to get a little bit of exercise.

Once we were all done we drove back towards Wilmington, once near ‘home’ we went to Home Depot because it is one of Rob’s favourite stores. We did get some supplies to tidy cable at the house and a little hacksaw :) I think we also stopped into the wine shop to get some more beer :)

Next we went to Famous Dave’s for dinner. I had a pulled pork sandwich, Jen chicken tenders and Rob had a massive selection of food (I don’t remember what Tom ordered!)

Somehow Rob ate his ridiculous feast and still wanted dessert afterwards, so the three of us decided we would help him!

When we got back to the house Rob started his cable tidying in the living room….but we had underestimated the space so it wasn’t finished that evening!
