The “We aren’t going to Florida again for a long time!” Trip Last day and long trip home!

Departure day and we had an alarm set at 0800, we had coffee with a muffin and then packed our bags.

We had once again apparently bought some awkward shaped items but managed to fit it all in 🤣

We left just before 1100 and headed to Sana’a for lunch.

We had the bread service to start and having learnt from last time we got the potjie inspired dish to share along with some samosas.

Rob had the beef, I had the veggie option (I believe it was kidney beans) and we shared the rice.

This meant we could fit in a dessert so we got the candy bar (pistachio flavour) and the triple chocolate mousse which we shared.

Whilst there we discovered the incoming flight had not left LGW until 1913 UK time, which means we don’t leave until 0115.

As we now had loads of time we went to Disney Springs for a last few bits.

We left just before 1500 to head towards Tampa to return car

We arrived at rental car return at 1700, we weren’t sure if we could bring the car back much later and BA had only just sent emails telling us about the delay 🤷

We checked in and got given food vouchers and waited in the main terminal for about an hour.

We went across to terminal F as we weren’t sure when duty free would close.

We got grilled cheese sandwiches, muffins, 2 cokes and 2 waters with our vouchers which were only able to be used at a small amount of outlets.

Surprisingly the sandwiches weren’t bad.

I also got a pumpkin spice latte at about 2040, the wait was as long as expected but we did find some sofas so that made it slightly more comfortable.

The incoming flight landed at 2323, and our crew arrived at 0015!

Finally on board, the flight was smooth and we both got a reasonable amount of sleep.

Neither of us had any of the food, we put our masks on and tried to sleep as much as we could!

We arrived at Gatwick just before 1400 having originally been scheduled for an 0835 arrival.

Passport control and bag claim was reasonably quick and we were leaving the long stay car park just after 1500.

We stopped at Amesbury to charge and get a quick McDonald’s (no photo sorry) and we walked in to our house at 1800.

Here are my pins and my duck back at home 😁

This was my view the next morning

The “We aren’t going to Florida again for a long time!” Trip - Epcot

Today we had an alarm set for 0650 for Guardians VQ where Rob managed to get group 32.

We were awake properly at about 0830, and did some laundry while having breakfast and getting ready.

We arrived at Epcot at about 11 having walked to the monorail from our room.

We walked into Guardians line at 1115. Our group had already ‘expired’ but we had no problem tapping in late.

This actually took a little while but we were off by 12, our song was September which was appropriate given our trip timing.

Next we decided to do Test Track via single rider - which took maybe 5 mins. We decided to change our dinner reservation from Teppan Edo to Les Chefs de France.

We went and got lunch at Connections where I had the kids chicken tenders and Rob had a burger.

We headed over to Nemo (which claimed a 20 min line…it wasn’t) and a walk around the Seas.

Then Living with the Land - which might have been a whole 5 mins, even though it claimed a 20 min wait again!

We went back to our room via monorail, where we ate the remaining cake from The Boathouse.

We went back to Epcot at about 1630 riding Spaceship Earth then Soarin’ before a quick stop at DVC lounge before it closed.

On our way around the World Showcase we had to ride the 3 caballeros and then walked around to France, for dinner at Les chefs de France.

We had bread to start and then both had beef but different options.

I had the Boeuf Bourguignon, linguine - Braised beef in Cabernet, baby onions, carrots, pasta.

Rob had Filet de boeuf grillé, sauce poivre, gratin Dauphinois, haricots verts* - Grilled tenderloin of beef with green peppercorn sauce, potato gratin, green beans.

For dessert Rob had a chocolate tarte and I had a profiterole swan

After dinner we got in line for Ratatouille which claimed it would take 60 mins. We entered the line at 2008 and exited at 2043.

This meant we were able to watch watch Epcot Forever at the entrance to World Showcase before monorailing back.

We got back to our room in time to watch the Halloween fireworks from our patio 😁

The “We aren’t going to Florida again for a long time!” Trip Shopping and Hollywood Studios

Another breakfast in the room (Rob went and got scones from the shop) and I had pumpkin spice coffee which I bought the other day.

More shopping was planned so we started off with Mall at Milenia followed by Best Buy, Target and Dicks.

During the shopping we got lunch at chick fil-a.

When we had completed our shopping we went back to hotel to change before going to Hollywood Studios.

I decided to cancel our breakfast at Garden Grill for the next day as I didn’t think we’d be hungry enough.

Over at the park we still managed a few things despite not arriving until 1730.

We started at launch bay where I met BB8, the cast member forced Rob to get a photo too 🤣

Continuing the theme we went on Star Tours next before dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby.

Rob had a steak and I had the Cobb salad (without tomatoes).

Rise of the resistance had a short wait so we took a ride around, Kylo Ren was broken in one of the scenes.

Rob wanted to look around the Droid shop but decided not to buy one.

We joined the Toy Story Midway Mania queue at about 2057 where the wait was inflated as normal at park close.

We were on in a couple of minutes and were back at the Poly just after 2130.
