June 14 Pre-trip: The cheeky bargain trip.....

So, 3 Disney trips in a year should be enough for anyone right?

Rob, Mary Poppins and Me in September 2013!

Except our annual passes run out in September and they were burning a hole in my pocket. Then I saw a bargain deal with Cosmos (liked to clubcard offers with Tesco) which meant we could get a week away for £399 per person – we upgraded the car hire and our total came out at £940 so we went ahead and booked a week in June!

Our package includes hotel accommodation at ‘Ramada Gateway, Kissimmee’ and having read a few reviews on tripadvisor I was starting to worry about whether we would be happy staying here.

I found a great price for a night at the Grand Floridian and booked our last night here as a special treat using my Birthday money :)

Following several weeks of deliberation I then started investigating other options for the rest of our trip. I did find an excellent price for a villa but Rob wanted to be a little closer to the action.
I found a good price for the ‘Doubletree By Hilton at the Entrance to Universal Orlando’ using some of our Hilton points so I booked 3 nights here and then decided to splurge a little and use some of our DVC points for 3 nights at the Animal Kingdom villas in a Savannah view studio.
I had to borrow from our 2015 allocation but as we aren’t planning a Disney trip next year that shouldn’t be a problem :)

So, the cheeky bargain trip had become a little more expensive but I think we’ll enjoy it more now – and we might stop in for a little visit to Universal this time!

Disney Feb 14 – Family Trip! Part 5

Day 6 (7th Feb)

Today we started off with shopping at Premium Outlets. Paul and Tracey stayed at the villa with the kids. We got to the outlets for opening and started off at the food court – we had subway except for Kev who had a burger!

Many bargains were selected and we left at around 1. On the way back we got a message asking us to get more teabags – who drinks that much tea in Florida?! So we stopped quickly and got more supplies.

We finally headed over to the Magic Kingdom. I popped into guest relations and got our last set of paper fastpasses. Then I set off to sort our FP+ out – I had 3 goals today: get Leona to meet a princess, get Blake to meet talking Mickey and the kids to see Wishes....

So FP+ booked – I had to get the Cinderella FP+ for later than I had hoped – and we were off to Pirates of the Caribbean. It was drizzling again :( - we got to Pirates and Paul stayed off with Charlie (not sure why as he could ride).

Once we got off the ride it was announced that Paul and Tracey were going to go back to the villa with Charlie. Before though we had to go and get a jumper for Sharna as she was getting chilly.....

Back to Main St to the emporium and Sharna reappeared with a Minnie Mouse hoodie. We said goodbye to Paul, Tracey and Charlie and then went in search of food.

We decided to get dinner at Cosmic Rays and then cross off a few of the rides that we hadn’t yet managed.

We started at the Mad Tea Party and as we had some spare paper fastpasses Rob and I took Blake and Leona. Kev and Sharna didn’t want to ride!

We then took a little trip back to Main Street on the Railroad to save our legs. We headed into Town Square Theatre to meet Mickey – we got into the room and as expected Leona didn’t want to see him so when it was our turn Kev took her out.

Mickey did a magic trick for Blake which was quite funny. I had thought that talking Mickey would be creepy but actually he wasn’t :)

Continuing our quest we headed over to see Mickey’s Philharmagic – it was a nice break from the drizzle and oddly it was nice to be inside as it was warmer inside than out!

Up next was the Little Mermaid ride in New Fantasyland. We used another of our paper fastpasses – it was odd though because we got almost to the loading zone and they stopped loading for several minutes...not sure why and then they started again. Very strange...!

It was almost time for Wishes so we went to Gastons Tavern to get a drink and a snack. Leona wanted an ice cream so Sharna took her to a stand outside and as she was wearing her birthday button the CM gave it to her for free :)

We headed toward the back of the castle to watch the fireworks – we knew that it would be a slightly different view but it was much less crowded for the kids.  Bizarrely though there was a lot of low cloud/fog and none of the fireworks were visible :-/ Leona did see Tink though....

We abandoned the fireworks and headed in to meet Cinderella. Thankfully Leona wasn’t scared of the princesses and we got some lovely photos of her with Cinderella and Aurora.

I did try and get them back in line for Rapunzel before the fireworks were over but they got distracted in the shop and people started flooding into the line.

We still had some paper fast passes so we headed back to Tomorrowland and took another ride on Space Mountain.

We were going to go around again but Leona didn’t want to so we did Buzz Lightyear instead.

Finally the kids wanted to buy some souvenirs – they had some gift cards and Christmas money so we went back to the emporium. Blake bought himself some pins and Leona got a princess dress.

We headed out of the park and got the tram back to the car at around 10pm. Amazingly Leona stayed awake for the drive home (we had bet her $5 that she would fall asleep – as she had every other night!)

 (FP+ 16.00 – 17.00 Pirates, 18.10 – 19.10 Meet Mickey, 19.55 – 20.55 Meet Cindy)

Day 7 (8th Feb)

Today we were going home :( We had arranged a late check out from the villa so we got up and packed.

We had bought Charlie a pair of shoes yesterday that were too small so Rob and I headed back to Premium Outlets to exchange them.

We took advantage of being on our own to grab an early lunch and do a little more shopping – I got a new bag, some Disney jeans ($9.99) & a T-shirt whilst Rob got some polo shirts & jeans.

We popped into Super Target on the way back for a couple of bits then went back to the villa to help with the tidying plus washing and final packing.

Off to the airport – we checked in and dropped our bags. The flight was slightly delayed but was quite empty so we spread out a little. We had 2 rows of 4 and a 3 – so Blake and Leona could stretch out and sleep.

Unfortunately Charlie didn’t sleep very much so Sharna had a tough flight.

Back at Gatwick, Rob and I used the e-passport gates and set about collecting the bags, We had most of them before the rest arrived but had to wait for Charlie’s seat.

Off to the car park and we made our way home, we picked up the dog and then had a lazy day at home!

A few final thoughts:

1. FP+ is tough to manage for a 'large' group. It is harder to change times due to the number of slots needed and it is hard to get everyone to the right place at the right time. We did most things that we had planned on this trip but that was mainly due to the fact that we had the extra paper fast passes.

2. I still don't like FP+ even for a small group. It feels like a WDW trip is now just too much hard work - I feel like I'm attending scheduled meetings all day :(

3. I still love Disney but maybe my DVC points will be spent more at Disneyland or Hilton Head for a few years.....
That said....we have a cheeky trip booked in June (just me and Rob) to get one final use out of our Annual passes.
It was an absolute bargain for flight, hotel and car so we booked it :) I have tagged on one night at the Grand Floridian so hopefully we'll have a fab time!

Disney Feb 14 - Family Trip! Part 4

Day 4 (5th Feb)

Today we were heading to the Magic Kingdom. Rob and I were taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour and the others were going to join us later.

The tour was a birthday treat for me – so Rob was just along for the ride. We had to get up super early as we booked the 8.30 tour. We arrived in the parking lot and parked right at the front. We checked in for the tour and ordered lunch and collected our bottle of water. I quickly popped to guest relations to collect our paper fastpasses for later.

The tour was really interesting and I would highly recommend it. Our guide was knowledgeable and pleasant, I knew some of the information already but it was still totally worth it.

During the tour we took a ride on the Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room (our first time) and The Haunted Mansion. We stopped for lunch around the halfway mark at Columbia Harbour House where we were given our souvenir pins.

After the utilidors we were dropped off by our guide near the front of Main Street and so we tried to locate the others.

We actually found them quite quickly as they were having a photo with Pluto.

We wandered back towards Liberty Square and we headed onto Haunted Mansion. Paul and Tracey were going to take Charlie on the Liberty Square Riverboat but the just missed it so waited for us to get out of the mansion.

We started across towards Frontierland as we had a FP+ for Big Thunder Mountain. Paul and Tracey rode after the rest of us having waited with Charlie.

We then headed all the way across to Tomorrowland for our next FP+. We took a couple of goes on Space Mountain using the FP+ and some of our paper fastpasses.

Charlie fell asleep so Paul and Tracey waited with him whilst the rest of us took a spin on the Carousel of Progress.

Our final ride of the day was Buzz Lightyear using FP+ before we called it a day and headed back to the villa.

The others decided to have burgers cooked at the villa but Rob and I weren’t really in the mood for them so we decided to pop out and see if we could find something else to eat.

We drove along the 192 for a little while and found a Panera Bread so decided we would try it out. We both got a sandwich, chips and a dessert. It made a nice change from all the Disney food :)

(FP+ 15.00 – 16.00 BTMR, 16.00 – 17.00 Space Mt, 17.00 – 18.00 Buzz)

Day 5 (6th Feb)

Today we were off to Hollywood Studios. We arrived around 10am and Rob and I headed into the park to guest relations to collect our paper fastpasses and then met the rest inside the gates.

We then headed off to get our FP+ sorted. As expected by this time we were unable to get FP+ for Toy Story Mania so I selected Rock n Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror and Star Tours.

We decided to head across to Toy Story and use one of our paper fastpasses as the line was already quite long.

We then decided to see the Voyage of the Little Mermaid – although Paul and Kevin decided to skip this one. Charlie fell asleep part of the way through!

Trying to get as many of the shows etc in during the day we were across to Indiana Jones next. I think this is a pretty fun show but you don’t really need to watch it on every trip.

Our FP+ window was just opening at RnR so we started across that way – I had forgotten that Leona was too short for this ride so she was a little upset but that soon passed.

We got into the line – Paul and Tracey stayed with Charlie and Leona whilst we went on. We were in the line and mentioned that the ride goes upside down and Sharna evidently wasn’t aware of this....! I went next to her and she screamed the whole way round....! :)

Once we were off Paul and Tracey went for their ride. By now we had managed to carve out a small window for lunch. Our next FP+ was at Star Tours so we went back across the park and got lunch at backlot express. The quick service options in HS always seem to get bad reviews on the many websites...I’m not sure why though as we had sandwiches (and some had burgers) and the sandwiches were quite good.

Up next was Star Tours – Sharna skipped this as she gets motion sick as did Paul and Charlie. We got Yoda in our sequence which we had never seen before :)

It had unfortunately started to drizzle a little and our next part of the plan was to see Lights, Motors, Action (as Charlie loves cars) so we headed over to get a seat. We managed to get seats under cover so we were sheltered from the rain :)

I had realised earlier that seeing LMA would mean we would be too late for our FP+ for ToT. I had tried to rearrange it for later but as there were 8 of us there were no slots left (I attempted this at around 2pm) – so much for don’t worry if your plans change!

The show was good and once we were done we decided to have another go on TSM as we were already too late for ToT – we used another of our paper fastpasses. I’m pretty sure that Paul and Tracey (and maybe Charlie) skipped this one as we ended up with a spare paper fastpass for 3 people.

We were almost done with the park but wanted to get on ToT so we popped across and used our last paper fastpass. Tracey stayed with Charlie whilst the rest of us rode and then we had a paper fastpass for 3 people left - so Kev, Sharna and I went for a final ride whilst the others took a leisurely walk back to the exit.

We all met up back at the car – after Ken and Sharna had a quick photo on the way out.

 (FP+ 13.05 – 14.05 RnR, 14.30 – 15.30 Star Tours, 16.00 – 17.00 ToT *missed)

Disney Feb 14 – Family Trip! Part 3

Day 3 (4th Feb)

Today we were off to the Animal Kingdom. The kids had another early start (around 6am) and I was keen to get to the park a little earlier today. We managed to arrive at around 10 and whilst the others took the tram Rob and I walked so that we could go to guest services to get fast passes.

We got them and then headed to get our FP+ sorted. (FP+ Safari 11.05 – 12.05, Dino 12.05 – 13.05, Everest 14.00 – 15.00)

We headed over to the Safari and had to wait a few minutes before we could enter the line. We had quite a nice show from the animals – a couple of the giraffes came really close to our truck and the lions were still out and visible!

Once we finished we went on to the trail and we picked up the Wilderness Explorers book for the kids. We managed to collect a few of the badges along the way.

We then started the gradual process of moving the group across to Dinosaur. We managed to get there in time for the start of our FP+ window and everyone except for Paul and Charlie rode this one. Leona wasn’t too keen on the darkness but so far seemed to be enjoying the bigger rides.

I had spotted Donald Duck in his new meet and greet spot and he seemed to have a really short line so we headed up to check it out. He went for a break but was back really quickly and there was one family in front of us.

I let Blake and Sharna meet him first and then went to get a photo. I have a Donald magicbandit and he noticed and was super excited. I got a fun series of photos where he is showcasing my magicband as if he were on a shopping channel!

We then went to get lunch at Restaurantosaurus which again catered for our less adventurous family members. It was quite busy though and we had to sit outside.

Afterward we sent Charlie, Paul, Sharna and Leona to Triceratop Spin whilst the rest of us braved Primeval Whirl. We used one of our paper fast passes as the line was longer than the 10 min wait for Triceratop Spin.

We got on pretty quickly and got thrown around as normal. We collected the rest and then started across towards Everest.

We took a ride using our FP+ reservations and then took a quick break to eat some soft serve ice creams.

Then across to Flights of Wonder for the last show of the day, it’s an entertaining show and the kids quite liked it.

Once it was over we found spots for the parade and waited for it to arrive. We hadn’t watched this parade before so it was new to all of us.

As it was warm we then decided to take a ride on the Kali River Rapids. Paul and Tracey stayed with Charlie and the rest of us took our chances. Unfortunately, Leona and I took the worst of it....we were completely soaked as a huge wave hit us. Luckily Leona was able to change into different clothes but I got to stay in my lovely wet outfit :(

It was getting close to park closing and we decided to try and get a last ride on Everest. We still had paper fastpasses and got there a few minutes before 5pm.

Kev stayed with Charlie so that Paul and Tracey could both ride this time and when we got off the line was still open so we sent Kev, Sharna, Leona and Blake back in for a final go. They just got into the line before they closed it!

A few minutes later and they were off and we headed back to the cars.

Tonight Kev, Sharna, Rob and I were going to dinner at Sanaa. Once back at the villa we had a rest and shower and change etc before getting back in the car to head to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We were a little early so we went to look for animals on the savannah with the night vision goggles.

Dinner was great as always (this was our 3rd time at Sanaa), we had the bread service to share and then a mix of the slow cooked chicken and beef with rice.

The beef was a little different – I think I prefer the chicken but the beef was still good.

Finally we had the desserts, 3 of the group had the dessert trio and I had the seasonal kulfi which was orange and pomegranate again – yummy!

A fun evening over and we headed back to the villa. Paul and Tracey said the kids had been well behaved all evening!

Disney Feb 14 – Family Trip! Part 2

Day 2 (3rd Feb)

The kids woke up a little later this morning – around 6am. Then there was swimming and breakfast and all sorts. Not exactly sure what time we left today but I think we arrived at Epcot at around 11.

I headed into guest services to pick up our paper fast passes and then went to get FP+ sorted. I had hoped to get Illuminations viewing for our tier 1 but ended up with Soarin’ I think. Along with Nemo and Spaceship Earth (just to use them up!)

As we were quite late arriving I decided to skip Future World and head directly to the World Showcase. I actually sent the others across while I sorted FP+. When I got there they were meeting Duffy. I considered hopping in the line but they were almost at the front so I didn’t bother.

Onward to Mexico and we went on the boat ride and then the kids got a Duffy Bear and an Agent P to colour in around the world. We made a deal to do a little bit of colouring in each country :)

Next up Norway and Maelstrom – I think we waited about 10 or 15 minutes. Then we did a little more colouring. Sharna looked at the line for the Frozen princesses and thought it was quite short. What she didn’t realise was that it was only a section of the line...! I guessed at a wait of 3 hours and the cast member grinned!

We gradually continued around taking photos and looking around the countries. Leona was wearing her birthday badge and at a few of the countries they wrote ‘Happy Birthday’ in their language on her Duffy bear along with her name.

We stopped for lunch in the USA – not that original for a food choice but some of our group aren’t particularly adventurous when it comes to food.

We continued around – with me desperately trying to get them back to FW before our first FP+ window closed (at around 4pm).

We got to the UK and I nipped out the back to see if Pooh and Tigger were busy. They weren’t so I grabbed Blake and Sharna to take them for a meet and greet. There was nobody waiting so we walked straight in and got a photo – although the photopass photographer didn’t seem that keen on taking a picture :-/

We finished up in Canada and had managed to get all the flags and stamps from the countries :)

We managed to get to Nemo for our first FP+ although we didn’t really need to use it. Then we parked the pushchair and went into the Land.

We started off with Living with the Land and then went across to Soarin’ where I think we used a paper fastpass. I requested the front row experience so that Kev, Sharna and the kids didn’t get to see feet on their first go!

We went back and found Paul, Tracey and Charlie in Sunshine Seasons. We were getting hungry so we had a mixture of dinner and cake :)

Then once we were done we headed across to Spaceship Earth. We left Paul and Tracey with Charlie as he doesn’t like the dark. We used our FP+ even though the wait was non-existent!

Next up was Test Track with a paper fast pass while we left Paul and Tracey out with Charlie again.
We decided to take Blake on Mission Space Green to see what he thought of it. Only Rob, Kevin and I went with him though as nobody else wanted to go on the ride. This only had a 10 minute wait.

We did consider taking him back on Orange but the kids were getting tired and so it was decided that they would go home with Paul and Tracey whilst the four of us would stay for Illuminations.

We still had FP+ booked so Rob and I went for another go on Soarin’ whilst Kev and Sharna went to find a spot for fireworks and to get a quick drink.

We agreed to meet somewhere near the UK and found them next to the Rose and Crown.

We had a tree to the side of us but otherwise we had a pretty good view. Annoyingly we had a very odd lady appear beside us who insisted on taking photos on her SLR with the flash which was very off-putting as she had her camera right next to Kev’s face and it was blinding...!

I asked her politely if she could stop using her flash (which we all know wouldn’t have been enhancing her photos) but her response was “I’m allowed to use flash to get a good photo”. And whilst she might be correct it is a shame that she couldn’t use a bit of common courtesy......

I would however love to have seen the results of her fabulous photos!

Once the show was over we headed back to the villa.

Disney Feb 14 - Family Trip! Part 1

Intro and travel day

Some of you might remember that our most recent trip (Dec 13) was taken with Rob’s parents (Paul and Tracey). This time we were taking his brother (Kevin), his girlfriend (Sharna) and their 3 children (Blake 9, Leona 6 and Charlie 1.5) along with us as well!
We had booked a villa out on the US 27 – just next to the Tuscan Hills development. We were a little concerned about us all staying under one roof so had booked 2 cars to enable us to split up when we wanted.

Our flight was leaving from Gatwick on Saturday morning (1st Feb) and we were flying with Virgin. We had booked one of the Premier Inn’s so that we could sleep in a little in the morning.
We all headed off and had an uneventful drive to the airport on Friday evening. We dropped the cars in the long stay car park and got the bus to the terminal.

We went to do twilight check-in and managed to get the seats moved around so that Kevin and Sharna got a skycot seat (although not the sky cot cos Charlie is too heavy) with the rest of us behind/across from them.

Bags all dropped off and we took the shuttle across to the North Terminal. Unfortunately by this time it had started (or restarted) raining heavily and we had to walk to the Premier Inn that is further away from the terminal :( We all got absolutely soaked in the few minutes we were outside :(

We were quickly checked in and all headed to our rooms for the night.

The next morning we got up and met for breakfast. Luckily the kids eat free (as they don’t eat much anyway) – and we paid £50 in total for the 9 of us.

Thankfully it wasn’t raining this morning so after breakfast we walked back across to the North Terminal before shuttling across to South for our flight.

We headed to security and went through the family lane – it is way quicker than normal security....! Who knew there was an advantage to having small people??

Through to the departure lounge we headed to the little play area that they have for kids. It kept Leona and Charlie entertained whilst Blake played games on his tablet. The adults took turns watching the kids whilst some small shopping was done. We were really trying to keep Charlie awake in the hope that he would sleep for a while on the plane.

Our gate was announced and by the time we got there they were already boarding families with small children so we headed on and got sorted out. We took off fairly promptly and the flight was jam packed full. The flight seemed to take forever though! Flight time was around 9 and a half hours – the kids were fairly good for the flight.

Charlie went to sleep and we made him a makeshift bed from pillows and blankets on the floor. He was asleep there for ages and then one of the cabin crew said he wasn’t allowed on the floor due to health & safety rules :( I guess they were concerned about someone standing on him but he was out of the way and comfy and once he was picked up he never really settled after that.

We finally arrived in Orlando and luckily were close to the front of the plane. Paul, Tracey, Rob and I used the new kiosks whilst the rest waited in the line. We got through really quickly and gathered up the luggage. Once the others got through we were ready to move on. The customs line was quite long but moved fast.

Onto the escalators which was fun with all the luggage but we were not doing the 2nd bag drop! Down to the car hire collection and somehow we changed from minivans to 7 seater SUVs...! This is what happens when you send father and son to pick up the cars on their own!

Out to the cars, sat nav set up and off we went. We pretty much knew the way but just needed a little route guidance to get out of the airport.

About 50 mins later we arrived at the villa. We dropped everyone off and then Kev, Sharna, Rob and I headed straight to Wal-mart to get supplies. Once we were done we went back to the villa and off to bed!

Day 1 (2nd Feb)

As expected this morning the kids woke up at around 5am. I had told everyone that if that happened they should get up and start getting ready (I wanted them to see the opening show at the Magic Kingdom). Rob and I were disturbed by all the noises but managed to stay in bed until 6...!

So the kids had breakfast and went swimming and finally everyone was dressed....takes so long! I told them all that we needed to be out of the villa by 8am but somehow despite the early start we weren’t out of the villa until at least 8.10 :(

By the time we got to the parking lot it was clear that we would miss the show, and we did in fact arrive at about 9.02 :(

We had encountered some issues on our last trip and had been offered some paper fast passes (3 per day) which I needed to collect from guest services (this became a regular errand at every park). So, I sent the rest on their way down Main Street whilst I got them.

Somehow they got distracted by the shops....Rob and I caught them up and we all had a photo on Main Street (unfortunately the crane features) before I directed them towards Fantasyland.

As we had stayed on-site in December some of us had Magicbands so I had prebooked fast passes. I sent the others on It's a Small World whilst I went to the kiosk to try and match up our picks. I did manage this and selected Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Tomorrowland Speedway for later.

Whilst we were in Fantasyland I decided to try and pick off a few of the smaller rides early. Although by now I think it was almost 10am. Peter Pan already had a crazy line (around 40 mins I think) so we used one of our paper fast passes - which they forgot to collect (and we didn't realise until we were off the ride).

We headed down towards Storybook Circus and hopped onto Pooh’s ride on the way past.

We got to Storybook circus and decided to split into 2 groups (as our fast passes were in groups of 5). Tracey, Kev, Sharna, Blake and Leona went on the Barnstormer whilst the rest of us took Charlie onto Dumbo.

We then decided to meet Goofy and Donald as they had about a 15 minute wait. Only 4 of us went in (Leona is afraid of characters) and the rest took a rest on the seats outside.

Once we got out we grabbed some frozen drinks and I think some people also had hot dogs before we headed towards Tomorrowland.

We arrive and took a quick spin on the Peoplemover – I know it’s not exciting but it is a nice little ride around the area :)

Afterward 5 of us went over to Buzz with another of our paper fast passes – and they forgot to take it off us again – I think the cast members are out of practice with the paper ones.

We were originally expecting the other to take a lunchtime break and head back to the villa. By now though I think it was about 12.30 and we had booked fast passes for 4ish so they decided to stay.

We walked across to Frontierland and got lunch in Pecos Bills. It was mega busy and it took ages to find a table but we eventually found 2 and grabbed our food.

Once we were done we decided to take a ride on the Jungle Cruise. I think we re-used some of our fast passes here because I’m sure we only waited a few minutes.

Whilst we were in the area we took a quick wander around the Treehouse whilst Tracey and Leona queued for the Magic Carpets.

It was pretty warm so we got in the line for soft serve ice cream where we had the most un-Disney experience. We were waiting patiently in line and were about 2 from the front and then the cashier/server disappeared. She said she would be back in a minute and then vanished...!

About 10 minutes later she reappeared – picked up something and then went out the back again. We were all completely puzzled at this point. I joked that maybe it was a test of how long we would stay in line waiting for nothing....!

Eventually she reappeared and started serving again without an apology or explanation and not even a smile..! Had it not been so hot we would have given up and gone away!

We sat and ate our long awaited ice creams and then headed back toward Frontierland. We had FP+ for Big Thunder Mountain at around 4pm. We arrived a few minutes early and parked Paul, Tracey and Charlie in the play area near Splash to wait. We were quickly on the ride and then sent Paul and Tracey back to ride.

Our next fast passes were in Tomorrowland so we walked back that way. We stopped to look in a few shops along the way.

We got across to Tomorrowland and Stitch’s Great Escape had a short line so the 6 of us (not Paul, Tracey or Charlie) went in. Rob and I had never been in here before – what a very weird attraction this is...! Leona didn’t like it cos it got so dark but I just couldn’t work out what the point was!

Our next FP+ was Space Mountain so we left Paul, Tracey and Charlie again. We weren’t sure what Leona would think of the ride but she liked it!

We had a little while till our next ride and so we went to take a look at the dance party. Leona is still not keen on the characters but she ended up dancing with Frozone :)

Our final FP+ was the Tomorrow land Speedway – we really wanted Charlie to ride as he loves cars but he wouldn’t stand up straight so they wouldn’t let him ride. We let Blake ride in his own car which made him pretty happy – he had wanted to ride the cars all day long!

All of the rides over and we headed off to look for a spot to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade. We ended up in Frontierland as Main Street was busy – we stood a little way back but up a few steps so the kids had a nice view. By now they were getting pretty tired so we headed over to Main Street to watch Wishes – Charlie fell asleep in his pushchair and part of the way through Wishes Leona fell asleep on Kevin!

Once the fireworks had finished we turned around and headed for the ferry. We managed to get on the first one :) Across to the TTC and Rob and I pushed Charlie back to the car whilst the others took the tram. We made it back before they did!
Back to the villa and I think we got a takeaway pizza before bed!

(FP+ 16.10 – 17.10 BTMR, 17.10 – 18.10 Space Mt, 18.10 – 19.10 Speedway)
