The one I am DEFINITELY planning! Day 14 - Tampa and home :(

This morning we were awake at about 0830, we got ready and sorted out our bags before breakfast (having not unpacked).

For breakfast I had the turkey Benedict and Rob had yet another omelette and I’m pretty sure we had coffee and tea as well.

We checked out and left our bags at the hotel, going in search of a charger and target.

We bought some bits at Target and had 2 attempts at the closest charger but they were really busy.

So, we tried another which was oddly on a ford garage forecourt but was available and just a mile along the road so not far out of our way.

We sorted out our shopping while we waited and I caught up on my notes, because apparently, I had neglected them over the last day or 2.

Once we had topped up our charge we headed to some more stores including Best Buy, Walmart and Home Depot.

I especially enjoyed some of the Xmas decorations that were available for purchase. Sadly, none would have fitted in the suitcase but I still liked looking at them!

Apparently I took almost no photos but I did video them

Once we were finished we headed back to the Westin to collect our bags. We had to pop some of our liquids in our hold luggage and also needed up replace the battery in 2 of our air tags.

We then made the short drive to the airport where we dropped off our car with 86% charge….hopefully the next user will have appreciated it.

We took the monorail over to the terminal where I put on my warmer clothes

We dropped our bags and got our paper boarding passes and then took the next monorail to the F gates. We were quickly through security with TSA pre-check.

We got a pizza to share and then a chocolate bar each and then waited at the gate.

Boarding started at about 1845, it moved slowly at the start but we were all on board at 1930 and taxiing at 1945.

The flight was fairly uneventful despite the stormy weather, dinner for us was a butter chicken meal but I had turned off my phone so no photo.

We both got a couple of hours of sleep, there was a child that sounded really distressed for a large part of the flight - I felt bad for them and the parents.

Some kind of bagel was apparently the breakfast but we declined as it didn’t look good. We had a slightly bumpy landing, but nothing out of the ordinary – interestingly one of our friends sent me a text which I literally received as we arrived at the terminal as they were worried about the storm (I think it was Darragh?)

We were on the ground at 0900, passport control via the egates was quick (after a really long walk), bags took forever though, we finally left the long stay car park at about 1030.

We had hoped to get home without stopping but sadly we didn’t quite have enough charge.

We stopped at Solstice Park in Amesbury and I grabbed a coffee and a snack for us both (no photos), ironically it took me longer to get the drinks than it took Rob to charge as there were people using all kinds of offers on the Costa app which took such a long time (and my patience was tested due to my tiredness).

We finally arrived home just after 1300 having experienced wind and rain along the way, thankfully our house and garden was unaffected by the bad weather.
