Lows
So, we had very few lows, the issue with our room at Copper Creek was probably the main one (but I have an update on that topic).Beaches and Cream was a disappointment.
The floor on the table we were allocated was covered in some kind of liquid and food remnants which was just gross. Our server sorted it but really they should have noticed it before bringing us to the table.
Also, our server was absent for large parts of our meal. We didn't need lots of attention but getting refils etc were harder than they should have been.
The desserts were awesome though!
Highs
From Tom:
He really appreciated Galaxy's Edge and Rise of the Resistance / Smugglers Run.
He also enjoyed his expert guides (Rob, Jennifer and me of course!)
I believe my outfits and Disney persona also entertained him, adding to the Disney vibe
He also was more impressed with Disney than he expected (his direct quote) and is happy to return in a few years... I totally have that in the diary
For me:
It was great fun taking a 'first timer' around the parks and I really did enjoy Copper Creek as a resort.
The transport is the only downside for me, I am spoiled by Bay Lake and will return home probably on the next trip
I also really enjoyed the evening events and the reduction in queues as a result. I think I said this after our previous trip as well and I definitely think it will be the way ahead for our park visits.
Copper Creek
We contacted DVC on our return home as we really felt that the issue with the room and the response was less than we would have expected.
We sent an email outlining the issues and a few weeks later (due to some diary issues) we spoke to a lovely lady in the customer satisfaction team who agreed that there was an issue.
As a result we have a 2 night stay in a 2 bed villa (some limitations apply) available in the future.
Might that persuade Tom to return to Disney sooner rather than later? I'm thinking a cheeky Halloween trip
