Trip number 11, how much does it cost to spend 2 weeks off site?! Day 7 & 8

Day 7 is quite short so I've added day 8 in at the same time!

Saturday 13th – steps 6668

Today was Rob’s birthday and this morning we had a really late start even by our standards. I was feeling really tired (and it would appear that I had caught a cold type bug) so we took it easy.

We decided to go in search of Johnny Rockets for lunch and the sat nav took us to Pointe Orlando which we had never visited before.

We got a table and ordered two burgers (I think both mushroom and swiss), I had fries and Rob had onion rings and fries. I also had a milkshake which was yummy!

We popped in to the Harley Davidson store for Rob to look at bits and pieces for his bike but he didn’t see anything he liked today.

I was still not feeling well so we went back to the hotel. I had a sleep whilst Rob watched some more home renovation shows on HGTV.

As it was Rob’s birthday we decided on pizza for dinner. We went across the road to NYPD pizza again (we ate in tonight) and it was just as good as the last time. I also picked up some Tylenol to help with my cold.

Costs:

Johnny Rockets lunch $35.00
Pizza for dinner $28.78
Tylenol $16.99

Sunday 14th – steps 15208

I woke up still not feeling well today so we had another late start. We headed over to Downtown Disney and got lunch at Earl of Sandwich, I had a child’s sandwich as I wasn’t feeling especially hungry.

We took a little wander around the shops before going to Hollywood Studios for the final day of the Star Wars weekends for 2015.

I had booked us a few FP+ and our first one was Tower of Terror which is one of my favourite rides!

We decided to get a drink before our FP for the final Conversation with Frank Oz so we took a break at the ABC commissary. The Frank Oz show was just as good 2nd time around – we were slightly further back in the theatre but still fairly central. They did repeat a few things but there was a whole load of new information which was great!

We had one more FP which was for Rock n Rollercoaster, for some reason the line moved quite slowly but we were still on much faster than if we were in the standby line.

Our last Star Wars event was a reservation at the Rebel Hangar which was in the Backlot Express. We checked in for our reservation and got a pager, we didn’t wait too long but it was clearly very popular.

Rob ordered the sliders and a portion of fries, whilst I just ordered fries. The portions were ridiculously huge…! Way too much food for us and we could have managed with just one set of fries. We also both got X-wing glow cubes which were fab and bumped up the price of the bill quite a bit!

We took a little wander around and decided to wait for the fireworks again, unfortunately we didn’t have the luxury of the dessert party tonight.

We took a seat near the entrance to the park and waited until about 15 minutes before the start before finding a spot. The key was to avoid getting in the crush too much…! We found a reasonable place and the fireworks were just as good the second time around.

We made a quick exit and reached the parking lot before the bulk of the traffic so had a smooth journey back to the hotel.

Costs:

Parking $17
Earl of sandwich $17.49
Rebel Hangar (inc 2 x X-wing glow cubes) $48.01
2 x drinks $6.00
2 x soda $6.69
Water $2.75
