Thurs 10th
Today we were leaving Saratoga Springs and moving to Bay Lake Tower for a couple of nights using our remaining points.
We left Saratoga a little before 11 and headed to Bay Lake. We arrived and our room was ready (which meant we got a 4th floor theme park view but never mind!)
We had a slight delay with sorting our check in because despite Saratoga telling us we didn’t need to check out - we did! Evidently the system can’t cope - so if you switch resorts make sure you check out at the old one first!
We headed to our room and dropped off the bags before leaving the Disney bubble to go shopping.
We went to the Premium Outlets on Vineland Avenue and our first stop was the food court for lunch, we both got some burgers
We did our usual circuit of the shops - I got a new dress in Ann Taylor and some new work trousers, Rob got more shirts (he has a problem!), I bought a load of jeans, t-shirts and sweaters in US Polo Association and a new Kipling bag!
We then took our first ever trip to Mall at Millenia as we needed to buy a wedding gift from Pottery Barn.
Our friends Jennifer and Tom had got married on the 1st Sept in London and we had been unable to buy a gift as the Pottery Barn website wouldn’t allow international purchases, so we decided to buy in store.
This was actually more complicated than expected because they actually send the items from each store rather than a central warehouse - and the store didn’t have one item that we wanted - however they called another store for us and I bought them over the phone and got them shipped direct to Jen’s US address.
We then had a little wander and Rob looked at more expensive watches!
We headed back to Bay Lake and got dinner at the Contempo Cafe, we attempted to use our remaining credits from Saratoga but unsurprisingly it wouldn’t work!
After we had eaten we headed to the concierge to fix the problem - we also had 3 remaining snacks which also wouldn’t work….so they got sorted too. A minor inconvenience but annoying that the systems can’t cope!
Due to the delay we were later heading to the Magic Kingdom than I had planned and we missed our Splash Mountain FP.
We did however just get there in time for our Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP
Crowds were fairly low so we managed to fit in the following: Philharmagic, Teacups and the Tomorrowland Speedway.
We then decided to get a drink before heading to the Wishes FP area, I really do prefer this to standing on Main Street!
I’m reasonably sure that we were allowed to stay seated this time but not 100% sure.
We watched both Celebrate the Magic and Wishes in relative space Then headed back to our room.
