Trip number 12 - Disney World and Cape Coral! Day 8 and 9

Sun 13th

We woke up this morning around 9, got up and had some breakfast - we had toast and some yoghurt from our shopping trip.

We had booked a boat for 3 days of our trip and as there was a boat already in the dock we had assumed that we would be using that. We were wrong! Early this morning a 2nd boat arrived - which was apparently more suitable for beginners.

The boat was docked and our orientation was booked for the next day at 9am...!

We had a fairly lazy day, I think I read a book sat by the pool whilst Rob did some swimming. The day was fairly sunny although we had a couple of heavy rain showers.

We watched some more Home and Garden TV in the afternoon before spending a little bit of time sat out at the tiki hut.

We got dinner at Fords Garage, I think Rob got asked for ID here when he ordered a beer. I’m fairly sure that we both had burgers for dinner and I may have driven back to the villa - which is my first time on non-Disney roads!

Mon 14th

This morning we had boat orientation starting at 9 for almost 2 hours. We got information on how to use the maps and took the boat out to get familiar with the controls.

After our orientation we decided to practice with the boat on our own for a little while.

Then we decided to get ready to go off on an adventure…! We got ourselves all set up with ice in our cooler and some drinks and snacks….and then looked at the sky and checked the weather forecast and heavy rain was forecast!

Because our villa location was around a 40 minute ride to open water (and gas) we decided that it wouldn’t be wise to go out not knowing how long it would be before the rain arrived.

So, instead we lounged around at the villa….and typically we had a lovely day with no rain! We would have been fine on the boat!

We decided to head out for pizza for dinner tonight, we went to a place nearby called Maria’s and we had a large pizza, garlic bread and fries and it was ridiculously cheap (Monday’s are half price pizza).
