The trip that I am not planning! Las Vegas Day 1 - 24th March

We woke up at 0630 which wasn’t too bad considering.

We knew before we arrived that there was no coffee maker in Vdara but you could get cups, plates and even cooking equipment.

We had asked for cups, plates and cutlery last night and had come prepared as we had bought our US kettle (which was purchased several years ago from Walmart) and I had brought a little filter coffee maker that went over the cup.

Having brought the supplies yesterday we made coffee and tea and both had muffins.

We had been messaging Chris and Emma and we planned to pop to their room before we left for the day. They were on a different floor and we assumed that we would be able to get off at their floor.

We took the elevator down and swapped to the other block (as Vdara has 2 different elevator blocks depending on the floor) and after we rode up to a floor with another guest we discovered that no in fact we could not do this and so we had to get Emma to come and collect us from the lobby.

We compared rooms (we both had the same room type but they were different configurations and Chris and Emma had a staywell room which had a special air filter and vitamin c infused water

I had some yoghurt and Rob had some of the hot breakfast that Chris had cooked (already on our 2nd breakfast!) while we caught up on their trip so far. Emma had also brought me some popcorn from Disneyland!

We took an Uber to Freemont St at about 1000 and we had a little look around, including Circa where we found Vegas Vickie.

Oddly I didn’t take very many photos here.

We ticked off a “must do” and got ourselves donuts from pinkbox where we got 4 between us. Rob and I shared the chocolate peanut butter and the Chocolate cheesecake.

They were both absolutely amazing and much lighter than I expected. Chris had the maple syrup and bacon and Emma went for a cinnamon ring, they both enjoyed theirs too.

Our next stop via Uber was Planet Hollywood where we had a wander around the Miracle Mile shops and we timed our walk to see the rainshow which I think happens every 30 mins.

We were planning on walking back to the hotel but it had started lightly raining.

As I pleaded with the organising committee we had an Earl of Sandwich – I got a holiday turkey and Rob had the Earl’s club, these were just as good as expected.

We all went back to our rooms for a rest and I had planned to go to the gym, however, we sat down and all of a sudden felt quite tired so instead we had a little nap!

After the nap we were refreshed and we got ready to meet Chris and Emma at 1800 in the lobby.

We walked to Bellagio via the bridge to see the Tea and Tulips display, this was quite busy but it was a really nice display and felt quite ‘Disney’. I’m not normally a fan of strong scents but the flowers here did smell amazing.

We then went to Caesar’s Palace where we watched the slightly weird show – I am not entirely sure I actually know what happened in the end. We picked up the adapter needed for our phones at the apple store (as it was on the way) so we would have entertainment on our next flight!

We did briefly attempt to get into Ole Red for a drink and snack but it was very busy as it was a weekend evening and so we decided to finish the evening with Wahlburgers for dinner.
