A short notice November trip... with a twist! Day 4 - Epcot

3rd November

This morning we were awake early again (around 6am) so we got up and ready and headed to Epcot for opening. We had pre booked FP+ for Test Track and I really like Soarin’ so it made sense to get there early and try and ride before the line got long.

We arrived at the parking lot around 8.20 and got in line, there were already quite a few people in line ahead of us and by the time we got into the park there were masses of people behind us!

We were let in around 8.50 and speed walked to Soarin'; we walked into the line at 8.59 and were on the first flight :)

Unfortunately we were in the second row (I prefer the front) and I’m sure we could have waited for the next ride but we decided not to bother.

We had skipped breakfast at the resort in order to arrive early (and the posted wait for Soarin’ once we got out was over an hour) so we headed to get food at Sunshine Seasons before riding Living with the Land.

We now had a fairly relaxed plan and so went across to Nemo where we walked through the queue and straight on the ride. It was getting close to 11 by the time we had finished looking at the fishes so we wandered across to the World Showcase.

We were too early for Mexican Donald so we went on the boat ride before a slow walk around. Rob decided to try the Beef tenderloin at South Africa and at some point I picked up a chocolate waffle at Belgium :)

It was starting to warm up so we dropped our hoodies back at the car, and then went to use FP at Spaceship Earth – as it was around midday there was about a 30 minute line so it didn’t feel like such a waste as normal!

We had some time until our next fast pass so we went on Sum of all Fears and created a ride called Soaring Hawk which went upside down 3 times (we were reminded twice!). It was quite fun and we only waited around 20 minutes.

We had a FP for Mission Space but it was still a little while until our time so we decided to ride Stand by instead (15 min wait) and then we went to Test Track with FP.  We decided to skip a second ride on Mission Space and decided to get an early dinner/late lunch at the ESPN club.

We headed back to the room for a rest, I had a sleep and Rob watched TV – he loves the home improvement shows.

We headed back to Epcot around 8pm to watch Illuminations; we got a great spot between the two shops at the entrance to the World Showcase (I thought this was originally where the FP viewing was but maybe they moved it?)

We had a fantastic view and an easy exit from the park once it was over.
