Sightseeing in Seattle and Adventures in Alaska Day 2

18th Sept

This morning we were awake at about 7am after waking a couple of times in the night. We got ready and headed down to breakfast where we had a selection of toast, fruit, yoghurt and I’m sure Rob had some of the hot options too.

We left the hotel shortly after 10 and ended up back at the Pike Place Market where we explored some more and then went down to the waterfront.

We decided we needed a snack so I got a brownie, Rob had a muffin and we of course needed some drinks from the Alaskan Sourdough Bakery at Miners landing cost was $16.

Next, we walked to the shops at Westlake where we got some lunch…...it feels like all we did today was eat! I only have a photo of one of our burgers but the cost here was $28.

We browsed more shops in the area around 5th Ave before heading back to the hotel for a rest after all that eating.

We headed back to Target and I think the Nike and North Face stores before dinner – we were considering buying a new rucksack but couldn’t decide on the right one to buy.

On our way back, we stopped to see how long the wait was for a table at The Cheesecake Factory but it was over 1 hr 30 so we tried a local Indian Daawat Grill instead.

We ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken plus 2 types or naan bread, one was garlic and the other was kashmiri (stuffed with cherries, raisins, cashews, fennel and almonds).

With hindsight we over ordered the naan’s but we both wanted to try different options! This was quite good value at $65 including tip.

We got back to the hotel at about 7.30 where we watched HGTV before bed.
