Now for something completely different... August with 5 first timers! Day 4

15th August

This morning we woke up at 0641, getting later but still way earlier than Rob and I have ever woken up after the first day.

We had plans for the afternoon so started off with breakfast in the room followed by some pool time as soon as it opened at 0900. We had to remove the kids at about 1100 as we needed time to get ready for the afternoon!

After showers and snacks we split up – the boys were going to take a boat ride on the Seven Seas Lagoon while the girls went to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique!

We walked across and checked in at the castle, Amy chose to become Queen Elsa which wasn’t a surprise as she is her favourite.

She absolutely loved the whole experience of getting her hair and makeup done, plus as we paid for the Castle package (I think) she got her dress (obviously) and a necklace which she was really pleased with.

After her makeover we went across and had photos taken in Castle Couture and then I had booked FP for both sides of Princess Fairytale Hall so she also met Cinderella, Elena, Rapunzel and Tiana.

We also took a quick ride on the Carousel between FP slots. Once we were done we called the boys to see where they were.

They had been out on the lagoon and then made their way to the MK to ride Buzz Lightyear followed by the Speedway and were in Cosmic Rays getting drinks when we caught up with them.

We got drinks and waited for them while they went to the Haunted Mansion for their final FP, then we all headed back to BLT to quickly freshen up before dinner.

We had a dinner reservation at Chef Mickeys, Rob and I really debated whether we should keep this as it is sooooo expensive but we decided to in the end. There was a reasonable selection of food, although I always find the buffets odd as they don’t seem to have proper meals – more random mixtures of food – not sure if it’s just me?!

The kids found plenty to eat which was good, they were understandably quite distracted by the characters though. We had ordered a custom cake for Amy and I had a quiet word with our server to ask for her to wait until the end before she brought it out. Everyone was surprised as we hadn’t told Matt and Lucy either!

We actually had quite good interactions with the characters as well – at one point Donald and Goofy were trying to pull me in different directions!

We paid the bill and then Amy went for a quick outfit change as we were going back to the MK to watch the fireworks!

It was a scrum in the hub as always but we had a pretty good view and I was pleasantly surprised by Happily Ever After – not replaced Wishes in my heart yet but it was pretty good

To avoid the queues on the way out we headed to Jungle Cruise and also managed a ride on the Magic Carpets before the park closed then we took a slow walk back to our room.
