Now for something completely different... August with 5 first timers! Day 6

17th August

Today we managed to get a slightly later start, and were asleep until around 7am. As normal we had breakfast in the room and then headed over to the Magic Kingdom.

Our first FP was the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at about 1045 which everyone rode, there was however a lot of screaming – not sure if Lucy or Amy were louder?!

We then moved across to Tomorrowland to do a couple of classics – the Peoplemover followed by Carousel of Progress!

Our second FP was for Space Mountain which only Rob, Matt and Eliis and I decided to ride, the photo of the boys is soooo funny!

We took the path to Storybook Circus and decided to take a spin on Dumbo, then the boys wanted to do Barnstormer so we waited in line (luckily not for too long) and again Amy screamed all the way around!

We were then going to take a quick trip on the Railroad but it suffered a breakdown so we decided to ride The Little Mermaid before our late lunch. Unfortunately the wait was over double the posted time so we were now running late! We apologised on our arrival at The Plaza and were seated shortly after we got there.

I was relieved to see that sundaes are still available despite not being mentioned on the menu posted online, lots of good stuff arrived at our table.

We then took a break back at the hotel as we were planning some more rides later this evening. I think the rest attempted to go to the pool but there was a storm threatening and so it was closed – there may have been a short rain shower but we were inside so all good again.

We took the monorail back to the park for a change and headed to our final FP for the day which was Splash Mountain – we had originally planned to ride this on our first day but the weather stopped us. Lucy skipped this one but the kids all loved it – apart from when we got wet right at the start!

Next we thought we would try Big Thunder Mountain as we were getting close to the fireworks starting so the lines were short. Again Lucy skipped it and unfortunately Amy didn’t enjoy the ride (I think mainly due to it being dark out) but the boys loved it and asked to go straight back on and as the line was even shorter Rob and I took them!

We had time for about 1 more ride so Lucy and I took Amy to ride the Magic Carpets while the boys took another ride on Splash Mountain.

We wandered out the park once we were done back to Bay Lake for our final night
